Workhouse Collective

We are Lucy and Guy of Workhouse Collective, a design studio on the Costa Blanca in Spain and the team behind The Diario. We asked each other a few simple questions.

Where are you from?

I was born in Bratislava, Slovakia but my parents emigrated to Vancouver, Canada when I was 11 years old. I lived there until I was 22, I met Guy and we moved to London, then a few here and there stories and eventually we found our dream life in Spain.

5 things off the top of your head you love right now.

Art, clay, red wine, nature, my dog Bono

Favorite place you have traveled to in the last year?

We visited Berber Lodge near Marrakech with our friend Jessica Bataille. The whole experience was life changing. It inspired me to live my already slow life even slower.

What do you love about life in Spain?

The authentic. The grandparents, the children, everyone together. That's happiness.

Where are you from?

From here right now. But born in Singapore and moved around to quite a few places in between.

5 things off the top of your head you love right now.

Playing guitar, sunset over Montgo, Bono our dog, wontons, chili oil.

Favorite place you have traveled to in the last year?

Marrakech. It was so nice we booked it twice. Literally the night we got back the first time, we booked tickets for the next trip. It's a place that I feel very connected to. The energy, the people, the food, the desert surroundings, the colours, the architecture. It all just resonates.

What do you love about life in Spain?

Cañas, sunshine and the sea.
